Sometimes the sun just catches the valley in a certain way. The thumbnail on the left doesn’t do it justice. Click on the small picture though for a larger version (approx 70Kb, 600*400). It was 4.39 pm on 27 May. Sunset these days is about 6.39 pm, so the sun was low.
They say the light in New Zealand has a special quality. I remember a number of years ago having about 20 largish photos spread out on a table. I’d captured most of them on a trip around Europe, but in amongst them all was a beauty from Omarama in Central Otago. It just shone out with a different luminosity. Must find it and scan it in one of these days.
