It’s Adult Learners’ Week (He Tangata Matauranga) from 8 to 14 September 2003. This United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) initiative is designed to celebrate the efforts, achievements and contributions of adult learners, educators and providers, and to promote the importance of adult learning to the wider community.
A highlight of the Week is the presentation of a range of Awards. The purpose of the Awards is to recognise and celebrate the full variety of contributors to adult learning, including the learners, educators and providers.
I’m thrilled to say that I am the recipient of an Exceptional Adult Educator Award. Thanks to all the learners who have helped me enhance my knowledge and sharpen my training skills.
