I made some suggestions, saying that I’ve only used a card reader so far, and then Martha sent this:

Here’s what you have to do to connect the camera directly to iPhoto. I was determined to make this work because I don’t like taking the CF card in and out.

  • Go into Menu Settings to the Setup 2 menu.
  • Choose the Communication menu.
  • Change Normal to PTP. (Picture Transfer Protocol mode.)
  • Then I had to turn camera and computer off and restart.
  • Now it works!

Couldn’t get my 300D to work with iPhoto – Google Search and I came right here. Solved my problem in 10 seconds or less!
