When I first looked at Launchbar I didn’t entirely “get” it. I jumped in anyway and have been using it and finding it invaluable for several months now. LaunchBar provides instant access to documents, folders, bookmarks, email addresses and phone numbers, applications and preference panes. You hit Command-Space to bring LaunchBar’s input window to front, enter an arbitrary abbreviation, and as soon as you start typing LaunchBar displays the best matching choices, ready to be opened immediately.

Well, Launchbar has suddenly jumped to a beta of version 4 and it brings hundreds of sizzling improvements. If you’ve never tried this give it a try now.
