PhotoStack is an image organization system featuring template driven layout, web based organization, smart caching, automatic thumbnail creation, RSS feeds, picture level EXIF date extraction, and picture level descriptions, all without the need for an SQL like database.

It was a very quick and small download. You upload half a dozen small files to the server, edit the config file and then upload some photos to a directory. It worked beautifully for me and there’s even an RSS feed available. My tests with several “albums” demonstrated it was simple and effective, though there are a few tweaks I’m still working on. The thumbnails are a bit of a problem as you’ll see if you visit my albums. An error was soon fixed after referring to the forums and deleting the supplied images.
