I use an excellent accounts package called Moneyworks. Although it was pricey it has stood me in good stead over the 8 years I’ve been self-employed and the annual cost has been entirely reasonable. In fact, I’d be sure it’s saved me quite a bit as I have absolute certainty at any time about who owes me how much and for what, what I owe and how everything stands. It prepares my GST returns for me every two months and allows me to hand my accountant information she can easily use for my annual tax return.
It’s interesting then to see that MacWorld have reviewed several accounts packages and give Moneyworks Gold four mice, calling it a standout package
