A couple of weeks ago we visited Wainuiomata, a short drive away from Wellington. We drove on through to the coast and stopped near the entrance to the walkway to Turakirae Heads on the South Coast in the central part of the “bottom” of the North Island. It was a cold, rainy and windy day, not suitable for a walk, though one day we plan to head out and visit the seal colony. Along the Coast Road though was a fine stand of cabbage trees, TiKouka, after which this blog is named.

Today I’ve made some slight changes to the layout of my Blog, incorporating a photo of that stand of Tikouka across the top of the page. Branching out a little, I’ve also added a background of TiKouka “icons”. Let me know what you think.
