This week NZMac.com has relaunched with a new look and using the Mambo CMS. The forums there are a good place for Kiwis to talk about Macs. If you prefer mailing lists then remember my NZMacs mailing list (which uses YahooGroups). Discussion there is sporadic, but generally useful. [Update: this list no longer exists.]
Previously Macguide magazine sponsored the NZMac.com website, but they’ve now broken off into their own site. It’s new and still developing, but you can visit to find out about the mag, subscribe, etc.
Issue #17 of Macguide appeared in the shops this week. As usual my Newbies Guide is present. This issue my article is about the different ports on your Mac. If you’ve been mystified about the various slots, icons and cables then this should help.
Coming soon: I received my new 4th generation 40Gb iPod just in time to take it on holiday. Now I’m preparing to sell my second generation 20Gb model. I’ll probably do it via a TradeMe auction. Keep an eye on my TradeMe listings if you’re interested. Probably also coming in the next few weeks my older model iMac, which has extra RAM and a larger than usual hard drive. I need some time first to take off some files and generally clean it up.
