Two more tutorials have been moved to the Learning Centre today, bulking out the set of tutorials for those making websites.

Seven Steps to Email a Photo takes total beginners through the basics of duplicating a photo, cropping and resizing it and saving it as a jpg. There are instructions for using both the free XNView on Windows and Graphic Converter on the Mac. Still to come is a more extensive tutorial using Photoshop to carry out those actions and a few more such as straightening and sharpening an image.

My Make a Simple Web Page course is for total beginners. It teaches well-structured XHTML, which is valid and accessible, and also search engine friendly. The tutorial includes a couple of MP3 files and a short movie as well as screenshots. This is a thorough grounding in the basics. This is in some ways a prerequisite for the Introduction to Cascading Style Sheets< tutorial.

Still to come is another tutorial on things to consider before making or commissioning a website.
