A client was having problems with his Apple Bluetooth mouse. Suddenly, while I was working with him, the mouse stopped working. It would click and double click but not move the cursor. We installed fresh batteries but that didn’t help. Nor did turning off the mouse and re-pairing it with the machine. I researched the problem and it seemed we needed to download a firmware update. The update didn’t help either. Turning off the Bluetooth phone (in case of interference) also did nothing.

Then I found a suggestion to remove the batteries completely for a couple of minutes. Apparently this resets the mouse. Now it’s working fine.

By the way, if you open the mouse you’ll see a wee slider with a plus and minus. This apparently allows you to adjust the pressure for clicking.
