Entries are now being accepted for the 7th Annual Deluxe Cinemas Young Filmmakers Showcase. Entry is open to all New Zealand students currently attending a primary, intermediate or secondary school.  Films must be no longer that six minutes long but may be on any topic.

Finalists’ films will screen at The Paramount Theatre in Wellington during the July school holidays and will be judged by an industry professional.  Previous judges have included Gaylene Preston, Robert Sarkies and Richard Taylor.

Entry forms and additional information may be obtained by emailing contactyfs @ hotmail.com.  The due date for entries is June 8 2005.

In other news: MovieFest is due to launch on the 9th of May — with Movies to be submitted by early August. You will have from 27th of June to make your short movie relating to the MovieFest topic. Late August will see regional screenings of the semi-finalists in a town near you, and the grand final on October 1st 2005.
