One of my favourite applications is StickyBrain from Chronos. It provides a database of notes, which you can group into folders and subfolders, search easily and easily create.
Now it seems that .Mac members can purchase StickyBrain 3 for US$19.95 until June 15, 2005 — 50 percent off the regular price. [Via MacMinute.]
I often use StickyBrain to grab text (and images) from web pages by using a contextual menu while surfing. A very nice touch is that it grabs the URL at the same time. I always use this feature for grabbing receipts for purchases straight into a receipts folder.
You can also set a note as private — useful for passwords and the like. If you have snippets of text you need to insert in other applications then a note can hold a snippet and be set up as a source for pasting elsewhere. You achieve the paste via a contextual menu or a user configurable keyboard command.
Set an alarm on a note for something you need to remember. Set a background colour or picture on those rainy Sunday afternoons when you have nothing better to do.
If you happen to have a .Mac subscription then download this one and give it a go and you’ll probably want to take advantage of the special offer. Even if you don’t have .Mac it’s still worth it at full price. It does a lot more than the features I’ve mentioned; see if it can work for you.
