“Help!”, my client said, “I’ve just deleted the main page of my website and I don’t have a backup. Do I have to recreate it from scratch?”

“Aha!”, I said, “first try this: find your website on Google and click on the link for the cached version. Now grab the HTML source and tidy it up to remove the Google-specific code. How’s that?”

“Fantastic! I’ve restored my page.”

It’s lucky it was straight HTML …
