In spite of general courier weirdness — the useless Track and Trace page showed them picking up my parcel this morning when in fact they picked it up yesterday afternoon — my new white 60Gb iPod with video has arrived. The package is so small! But then it doesn’t have the accessories of the older models. The package contains a connection cable, a plastic insert for the dock, some earbuds and covers, and a leather-like slip cover. Fitting the iPod into the slip cover is rather like putting toothpaste back in the tube — it’s a very secure fit.

The photos below show packaging and products side by side. The old is a 4th generation 40 Gb iPod (not photo capable) and the new the 60Gb iPod with video.

How about the material, is it the same as in the Nano? Will it scratch as easy?

I don’t know about the materials and scratching. The wee slip case is snug and soft and should help a lot with protection.

Congrats to the new toy. So will you convert all your series to the iPod now? ;-)
