MarsEdit is another essential application for me — I use it to post to half a dozen different blogs I have connections with. When Brent Simmons took NetNewsWire to Newsgator it left the future of MarsEdit a little unclear. Now we have good news about further development:

Here’s the situation we were in … We wanted to work more on MarsEdit, but we also wanted to work on NetNewsWire at the same time. So we thought of a bunch of different possibilities and decided to find another developer to help us with MarsEdit. … We thought about different people, but one name kept coming up as totally ideal: Gus Mueller of Flying Meat.

I find it disappointing that I don’t currently have a way to fit Gus Mueller’s VoodooPad into my workflow, because it’s an excellent application — a kind of desktop Wiki. It’s extremely easy to use and well thought through and I have total confidence that Gus will bring continued excellence to MarsEdit.
