As one of the organisers of Webstock 2006 I’m thrilled to say we can offer some scholarships for those who can’t afford the fee. I hope this will mean some community groups who may otherwise not make it will be able to attend.

Webstock is delighted to be able to offer up to 20 full scholarships to our main conference. These will allow the recipients to attend the two days of the conference proper, hang out at the sit-down dinner and festivities on the closing night and enjoy all the other assorted goodies of Webstock.

We realise that not everyone is going to be able to afford Webstock. But we want to spread our message and the Webstock experience widely, and we see the scholarships as one way to do that, as well as to support and encourage future web talent to flourish.

The scholarships are aimed at those who might otherwise be unable to afford Webstock, and at those who are under-represented in our industry. With the support of Te Puni Kōkiri, four of the scholarships are for Māori. The remaining scholarships are open to all.

If you can help to provide any scholarships we’d love you to email us. Any amount will help, however small, though NZ$1,000 would provide a full scholarship for one person.
