Get your web fun and games downunder!

Webstock and WIPA have just announced the launch of the Olympics of web coding (and design): FullCodePress.

FullCodePress is a series of international web competitions. In essence it’s a geek Olympics! Web teams take each other on, at the same location, to build a complete website in 24 hours. No excuses, no extensions, no budget overruns. The first event will be Australia vs New Zealand — to be held in Sydney, Australia on Saturday 18 August 2007.

The first competition will take place in Sydney, Australia on 18 August — a trans-Tasman clash between the best of Australia and New Zealand. Following that, on the 9th February, and just prior to Webstock 08, teams from around the world will converge in Wellington New Zealand for a larger international competition. Think geek Olympics!

This is very cool. If you’re a Kiwi and have mad web skills then sign up now. If you’re an Aussie, take a look too. And if you’re from somewhere else on the globe, take a look at the site and see if you can either organise a team or join one, ready for February next year!
