It’s all go around here — I can barely keep up! Today the first of my series of articles for Informit has been published: Web Design Reference Guide > Customizing WordPress: Make a Start:

This series explores everything you need to do to customize your WordPress blog. Along the way, we’ll look at plugins, widgets, pages, and posts; how to integrate your blog with other applications such as photo albums; and how to customize themes. But first, you need to make sure you have the necessary tools to get started.

Last weekend the final issue of Macguide was published, with my two articles: Mac Safety Demystified and PowerUp to Passwords. Eventually they will appear online here, but here are a couple of tasters:

Let’s get this straight, right at the start: Macs are safer than Windows computers, but nothing in this world is 100% safe or guaranteed.

There are three areas of vulnerability: hardware, software and wetware. I’ll explain these, along with precautions you should take.

These days we need passwords for everything; increasing threats from people trying to scam us mean more passwords and more complexity. Here are some tips for easing the pain.
