Soooo, catching up on some video podcasts …

Rocketboom was one of those things I’d heard about, but never looked into, until a couple of weeks ago. Then, once I’d increased my Internet plan I went looking for interesting podcasts and subscribed to Rocketboom. That turns out to have been a very smart move.

Rocketboom is definitely one where you should watch several episodes, or else you might not entirely ‘get’ it. In 3 or 4 minute segments the lovely Joanne Colan presents an assortment of almost Monty Pythonesque clips and moments.

It’s a delight to hear her pleasant English accent, although it seems she may be based in New York. The notes say:

Rocketboom is a three minute daily videoblog based in New York City. We cover and create a wide range of information and commentary from top news stories to quirky internet culture. Agenda includes releasing each new clip at 9am EST, Monday through Friday. With a heavy emphasis on international arts, technology and weblog drama, Rocketboom is presented via online video and widely distributed through RSS.

This one’s a must-have for some light relief in the day.

I’ve decided to give this a whirl. I can always use something fun on my iPod for the times I get stuck someplace I don’t want to be.

As for the English accent — Americans LOVE British (and Australian and New Zealand) accents.

I always wondered what you folks thought of our accents.
