Friday night slacker

Grr, I pretty much worked all last weekend (paid and unpaid), and, if I remember correctly, the weekend before that. It’s 7.30 on Friday night and I’m just knackered.

I was supposed to go to the eGovernment Barcamp tomorrow, but have decided to just stay home with the dogs instead. The dogs need some quality time, some training, perhaps a trip to the beach. And so do I. The cats need some attention too.

I was at a meeting this afternoon when someone mentioned “the second bottle of wine on a Friday night”. Now, I haven’t drunk alcohol for about 15 years or so, but the idea of just relaxing on a Friday night with a beverage and some entertainment had a very strong appeal.

Of course, I’ll probably use the time to catch up on some software manuals, if I can stay awake, but still …

I’m typing this on my new second-hand MacBook. I really like the machine, and the battery life is phenomenal. The keyboard’s different from the MacBook Pro, but I’m getting used to it. Though if you see letters missing, the different keyboard is the reason. I’m also loving not having all the ‘stuff’ I have on my main machine.

That actually includes the Coolpad and the graphics tablet. I can just close up this one, tuck it under my arm and wander off to a new spot. Then, when I get there, this one’s easier to open because it doesn’t have the catch that I have to fumble with on the other one.

So far, so happy.
