Yesterday when I started out to wash the dishes I looked for an audio podcast to listen to while working. What I found was dozens of unwatched podcast videos, and nary an unheard audio podcast.
That’s when it occurred to me that in fact I could watch a video or two on my MacBook Pro, if I were to put it on top of the oven at the end of the kitchen bench. I set up a quick playlist, angled the screen just right and cranked the volume up to full.
And then realised that if I brought the little (white) JBL On Tour speakers over I could also enjoy much better sound quality. The photo shows the setup (with laptop lid down), though the speakers are just out of shot.
Even though the kitchen’s very light, the MacBook Pro performed admirably. Video looks truly gorgeous, and those JBL speakers (NZ$200) make an enormous difference to the sound.
Combined with the playlists I described in the previous post there’s entertainment and convenience, excellent video and sound, all very neatly put together. The dishes are now much less of a chore.
