When my iPod touch was delivered I had a lot of problems. Even though I was home and waiting for the package and left a note on the door still the courier took it away a couple of times because ‘no-one was home’.

It doesn’t help that every doorbell I’ve ever installed stops working without notice.

Today I had an even more helpful note on the door, and was also sitting in a chair where I could clearly see anyone approaching the front door. But it turns out I could have relaxed. The package has an interesting printed sticker firmly attached:

TNT drivers:
as a one-off, and only for deliveries to private addresses if the consignee is not home, Apple authorises this to be left in a secure location and without pod signature.

Good move, Apple! We home office workers thank you!
