Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. My order’s in for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). A Family Pack should be on my doorstep on Friday 26 October. There’s probably no need to reformat and reinstall, but I like to take the opportunity for a fresh start, cleaning out accumulated gunge. It takes time but it’s very satisfying.

I’m pleased to see the Minimum System Requirements:

  • Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
  • 512MB of physical RAM
  • DVD drive for installation

I had thought my poor old Mac mini would be missing out on this one, with its 1.42 Mhz PowerPC G4 chip and 1Gb RAM, but it easily meets the requirements.

Heh,heh! If the courier does deliver on time we Kiwis will be receiving our copies before the folks in the US, Canada, the UK and other places. Yay for timezones!

Dang! You’ll get it 20 hours ahead of me! (I can’t in all fairness count the latest beta still on my MacBook Pro.) Enjoy!
