Hey, I'm thinking about a system where people could opt-in to receive email notifications when a pdf circular is available on a centralised website, so you wouldn't have to go to the website of each company you were interested in to read the environmentally friendly version of their circulars. Would this appeal? Sorry I don't have any suggestions re the community newspapers except an sign explicitly stating you don't want them.

I've always been like you seem to be and will make a fuss if someone is infinging on my rights or property, but a friend of mine goes an extra step and really gets involved. She uses the council and bugs them until they have to pay attention. I would think that the new email spam laws can easily be transfered to any-spam laws SURELY! There is nothing worse than looking at your recycling box on a Thursday and seeing it full of paper that was chopped down, covered in ink, driven around then thrown immediately into the bin. What a complete and utter waste.

I've seen people with explicit "No free newspapers" signs on their letterboxes (usually handmade). No idea if they work.
