I’ve spent most of today updating the Tips Archive’s version of WordPress and the various plugins, setting up a fresh new theme, choosing and preparing 30 header photos, customising sidebars, updating the About pages and so on.

The Tips Archive has been running for about 8 years now. It began with Eudora Tip #1/01-Sept-1999, a tip about using the Option Key in Eudora for the Mac. Back then the Archive was static HTML pages. I moved it into WordPress a few years ago.

After a couple of years writing tips for Eudora I realised a similar mailing list with Tips for beginner Mac users would be useful. The (general) Mac Tips appeared with Close Them Now, Mac Tip #01/02-May-2001. Since then I’ve written more than 330 general Mac Tips, one per week, and they are still going strong. I stopped the Eudora Tips though back in August 2004, after 236 weekly Tips.

All those Tips, both the general Tips and the Eudora Tips are available at the Tips Archive. And it receives plenty of visitors each day. If you haven’t been over there and had a fossick around, then now would be a good time to check it out, leave some comments, and of course, add it to your feed reader.

Don’t forget the MacTips.info Facebook group either. Stop by and say hello.
