MacTips.org (no relation to my own MacTips, established more than 6 years ago :-) ) has many diverse tips for Mac users, often for the more advanced and more adventurous. Today though they have a good, solid, practical Dock tip:

MacTips user Alex Hwang submitted an alternative way to move the Dock around. Hold down Shift and then click on the divider and drag the divider across the screen. When you get near the left side, the bottom, or the right side of the screen, the Dock will pop into place there.

I like the Dock over on the right, and hidden, except when I specifically call it up, but occasionally might like to move it around if it’s in the way. This seems like a good, quick way to do that.
