Ways to involve kids in IT careers

According to a post on the Webgrrls mailing list, the Dominion Post had an article on 26 May 2008 which read “Pupils being ‘put off’ computing”. Futureintech would like to turn that around and inspire kids to continue in the IT field. They say in their email:

Female IT Graduates needed

  • Are you under 30 years of age?
  • Did you get your IT qualification in New Zealand?
  • Do you want to make a difference?
  • and are you interested to talk to IT students about how their studies can lead to a satisfying career path?

If so, I would love to hear from you.

I would be especially interested to hear from you if you have a Maori or Pacific Island background. You don’t have to be a confident, experienced public speaker as this is a skill you can develop by doing this.
