A friend of a friend is looking for people who grew up in Te Anau in the 1960′s and 1970′s. Especially those who grew up in an area where children were constantly drenched by crop pesticides.
You see, this friend of a friend has kidney cancer. They say:
Local gossip is that many people from there have developed cancer.
The theory is that some of the other kids from that place and era may have similar health problems, and these friends would like to get in contact with them to discuss experiences.
They’ve done some googling, checked out a few cancer-related websites, and finally asked if I can help find others from Te Anau in the 60s and 70s.
Please help spread the word about this search, especially if you have any mad skills in people-finding.
If you’d like to get in touch with my friend of a friend please contact me in confidence and I’ll pass along your contact details. Please put the words Te Anau in the subject line.
And if you have suggestions for helping find people who grew up in Te Anau 30 or 40 years ago, please add them as comments below.
