The auction for my old G4 Powerbook is going well. It closes soon and there is strong interest.
One bidder asked for the serial number and pointed out you can search Apple by serial number to see specifications for a machine. I wish I’d realised that before I’d listed it — it could have saved me much Googling.
Anyway, the thing to do is to visit Apple – Support – Technical Specifications and plug in the serial number. Do a search, and with any luck you’ll see a link to the relevant specs.
Or try visiting the URL directly, like this: http://support.apple.com/specs/#W84333VUTX9, where the characters after the # sign are the serial number. The serial number I’ve used for this example is fictitious, by the way.
