Suddenly more and more of my non-techie friends are starting to explore Twitter. They should read Maria Langer’s Twitter Primer: @Reply vs. DM:

One of the things I’ve noticed lately, however, is that newcomers often have trouble distinguishing between the two methods available for addressing a tweet to a specific user. I hope to clear up some of the confusion with this brief article.

Somehow, I just spotted this. Thanks for the link.

Twitter is one of those services that seems simple on the surface but has a bit more to it than folks might think. The @reply and DM issue is an example. Hope I cleared it up for a few folks.
