Grab your laptop or iPod touch and take the bus

Free wi-fi comes to Wellington’s airport buses.

I’ve taken the Aiport Flyer bus a couple of times recently. Apart from not sticking too closely to the timetable it was otherwise easy and comfortable. It didn’t have wi-fi though, So I amused myself by watching the wilds of Wellington’s southern suburbs go by.

An overhaul has changed that:

Wellington’s Airport Flyer … fleet now has nine new NZ-built buses, featuring leather coach-style seats, extra leg-room and air-conditioning. On-bus TV screens display route information, weather, news and even live flight departure and arrival times. … they’re also all fitted with free Wi-Fi!

What’s more you can now use a Snapper card to pay for your trip on the Airport Flyer. Hooray!

Then once you reach Wellington airport roam around until you’re in range of the free airport wi-fi. You may as well surf the web or read some tweets while you’re waiting.
