Gosh, Samm. It's quite a leap from one blog post about one paid piece of software to deduce that there are no free apps for the Mac.

It's also a downright incorrect assumption. I think you may find Google quite informative.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers,

Miraz

See? Unlike with a PC, nothing about the MAC is free or inexpensive. I've used freeware with my PC desktop to solve problems, even bought the ones I found useful, or made a donation. But the Apple universe has nothing for free.

And another solution would be to wear headphones.

You seem to have a lot of inside information about Apple's thinking and potential actions. Is that based on authoritative data from insiders at Apple, or are you just speculating?

It's always dangerous to speculate about the thinking and motivations of other parties.

This is a solution, but buying auxiliary speaker(s) would also be a solution. it does nothing for the irritation factor. Macbooks aren't cheap; they are the opposite. One would think that if all this money is being spent on a laptop there shouldn't have to be the need to spend in order to solve its deficiencies. Apple can't possibly have overlooked the fact that you can't hear a video more than a couple feet away. They aren't slipshod, but they aren't above providing marginal sound output as an inducement for the consumer to spend on speakers. Not only does Apple believe there's no such thing as a free lunch, but they would also probably charge you for the containers which hold the lunch, as well as the eating utensils.
