Come to WordcampNZ in Wellington (August 2009)

WordcampNZ is in Wellington on 8 and 9 August 2009.

WordCampNZ. Here’s something I’ve been looking forward to: WordcampNZ – WordPress Community Event:

WordCamp New Zealand will be held in the amazing city of Wellington, New Zealand on the 8th and 9th of August [2009].

WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress. WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. WordCamps are open to WordPress.com and WordPress.org users alike.

Amazing line up of speakers

The two-day conference will be held at the Mt. Victoria Bowling Club and will feature Matt Mullenweg as a keynote speaker along with hands-on sessions focused on the WordPress platform and the community around it.

I’ve put my name down to speak:

Title: Using WordPress to build Communities

Miraz will talk about building a community around a WordPress blog — based on her experience with an online Retreat and other projects.

And look at the great list of sites on Who uses WordPress in NZ?

I currently have 5 of my own live sites using WordPress, plus one I’m building for a client.

Quite honestly, it’s hard to imagine why you’d want to use other software. [OK, tongue in cheek and somewhat rhetorical — don't bother giving me the 1001 reasons. ]

If you use, or are thinking of using, or are just curious about WordPress come and join in.
