Power Taskforce yesterday dropped its calls for 10 per cent power savings. Taskforce co-ordinator Patrick Strange said rain had taken the hydro lakes to 87 per cent of normal and shortages of coal and gas had also eased. “We still have to be prudent and have a reasonable level of savings. It’s not time to go and turn all the lights back on.” Normal rainfall has been forecast over the next three months, which will keep the lakes full. [Via Stuff.]
