OK, that all-consuming job I did last month has paid off and I’ve ordered a Canon Digital Rebel camera. Should arrive in a couple of weeks if I’m lucky enough to get in on the first shipment. Meantime I can do some study at the Canon School of Digital Photography. I also wonder if I should buy this book: Mac Digital Photography by Dennis R. Cohen, Erica Sadun? This camera’s a big investment and I really want to learn how to use it properly.
Until the EOS arrives though I’m still working with my Canon Powershot A20. Two new photos went into my dailies album today: ships in the harbour and another sunset.
A few weeks ago I bought How to do Everything with Your Digital Camera. It was more basic than I needed really. The second half of the book looks at using software to alter images. The information is useful but it focuses on using PaintShop Pro under Windows. I have yet to try the techniques with Photoshop and ImageReady.
