My second spammer seems to have stopped — I haven’t had any bounces for a day or so. Last time that happened though it was just because a new spammer was coming online using my domain. Meanwhile Duncan in the UK writes:
A quick search on the web showed me that mine wasn’t the only domain
being used by these identity theives in China. It looks like we were
all hit at about the same time. Since it started I have received
several hundred delivery failure reports, and I assume that for each
one of those many more of their spams arrived in real mailboxes.
As far as I am aware, my domain hasn’t been added to any e-mail
blacklists, but I think it quite likely that it will happen soon.
Please let me know if any of you are aware of being added to such
The good news is that they seem to have stopped using my domain name –
in the last three days I have only received three or four delivery
failure reports. I wonder if their service provider has finally cut
them off, or if they are just stealing someone else’s domain instead.
Like all of you I am very frustrated by this and not having any real
means of stopping it. I’m sure we’re not the first to be treated like
this, and certainly not the last.
