My favourite text editor TexEdit Plus allows me to use regular expressions, and I need them on many occasions to tidy up text. For one client I regularly need to take items submitted to a Microsoft Content Management System, rewrite the HTML, and then paste the result back into the CMS. Regular expressions (and Applescript) allow me to do in moments what would take minutes by hand. MacCentral’s article on: Macworld Secrets: Transform HTML w/Regular Expressions is a useful introduction into the mysteries and provides several very useful specific examples.

Folks, I'm sorry, but the comment spammers send about a million more comments than real readers do and I can't stand the spam. I've disabled comments again. Feel free to respond to @miraz on Twitter or to email me through the contact form on the site.
