I have finally added all the Gisborne photos I’m going to add to my Aotearoa at Large album. A bit of research has allowed me to add some historical information too. Gisborne is the site where the great waka Horouta is said to have landed some 750 years ago bringing Maori migrants. It also marks the spot where Captain James Cook and his crew first landed in October 1769, initiating the European side of this land’s history.
