Summer ended this year on Friday 17 March, and instead of slipping into Autumn we launched straight into winter. The rain came, the gales, the fog and the chill. It’s all been fairly abrupt.
Of course, we’re not as badly off as our nearest neighbours in Australia some 2,500 Km or 1500 miles away, where cyclones seem to be the thing.
My co-author on the WordPress book, Maria, was asking recently if we were in the path of Cyclone Larry, so for a bit of comparison, Wellington, New Zealand to Sydney, Australia is about the same distance as Los Angeles, California to Houston, Texas. Which also helps me realize how huge the USA is.
