There are two bones on the lawn. There are two dogs. In the world of people this ought to be a simple equation: one bone per dog. And that was our intention.
However, in the world of dogs it’s an entirely different equation: Sasha’s the boss dog so she gets both bones. Oshi gets no bone at all, unless Sasha decides he should have one.
Sasha’s quite zealous, too, in claiming her rights: she wards off Oshi if he comes too close to either bone.
At first I’d interfere, reckoning that as the human I should be the one to decide how these things went. Our trainer pointed out though, that the boss dog gets to decide, and that’s the dog way.
It seems I provide food and bones; Sasha allocates them.
