While the Tips Archive is updated weekly, and this blog, covering topics of Macintosh, iPod, Internet, technology and sometimes astronomy, is updated numerous times per week, the Learning Centre is a bit of a poor relation. Content overlaps with the Tips and TiKouka, and it’s hard for visitors to have to visit 3 separate parts of one site to find the information they want.
What’s more, some of the articles on the Learning Centre are a bit dated. For example, the most popular post is about how to use iPhoto, but the article was written in late 2005 and explains iPhoto version 5. iPhoto is now at version 7, so the article is no longer as accurate and relevant as when I wrote it. Newer and more up-to-date information is available at the Tips Archive and on the blog.
I think it would benefit everyone to close down the Learning Centre and move articles over here to my Blog. I intend to leave redirects in place so anyone following an old link should still end up at the article they were seeking.
It’ll take me a while to move the articles across, so expect some weirdness in the interim, and about 150 new articles here in short order.
I’m starting this year with a clean-up and simplification. This is one step in that sort-out and will be one less blog whose software I have to keep updated. Hooray!
