While I’m enjoying some summer holiday I’ve been catching up on the most excellent ScreenCastsOnline (affiliate link) video podcast. I’ve watched about 10 episodes in the last few days, and as always there has been much valuable information to absorb.
One piece of software that Don showed in the January 2009 members-only show was the Secrets preference pane. It’s even free:
A database of hidden settings for Mac OS X.
While I’m quite capable of typing this kind of thing into the Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes allow-half-stars [boolean] to enable half-star ratings in iTunes, it’s a whole lot easier to just check a preference box.
If you haven’t watched any of Don McAllister’s screencasts I strongly urge you to give his free tutorials a try. If you decide to sign up for the members-only show please consider using my affiliate link above: I’m saving for a new computer and every contribution helps.
